Hero or Villain?
Alexander the Great. Some may think he is a hero, some may think he is a villain. Both claims have their reasons for thinking so. Villain or not, he has done some good in his life whether you believe it or not, and here are some examples of the heroic things he has done. He created the Absolute Monarchy. I know big words. Here's what that means, it means that the king or queen has absolute power over all of his/her subjects. They also have unrestricted political power over the sovereign state and its people. He also conquered Egypt, Persia, Mesopotamia, Syria, Bactria, and the Punjab. He also founded the city Alexandria in Egypt. Along with all of that, he was the king of Macedonia and he united Greece. And if that wasn't enough for you, he also spread Greek culture to everywhere he conquered. Now lets get to why he might be villainous.
First of all, he is extremely self-centered. I mean, who names an entire city after them self? He also made 30,000 people slaves and killed 6,000 people. That's just cruel. And some people might think that its bad he conquered all of those places. Why might you ask? Because, maybe those people didn't want to be conquered. I know, shocking. Whether he is a villain or a hero, he was still great.
Personally, I think he was a hero because of all of his accomplishments. Examples of these fabulous accomplishments are the Absolute Monarchy because some countries still use that system TODAY. That's a long time. And, without him spreading Greek culture we wouldn't know about gods, goddesses, Greek architecture, sculptures, theater, philosophy, and more. And he did this all by age 25 which should inspire a lot of young people. All of these benefits to our world outweigh his evilness. Well, at least in my eyes. Because of all these fine deeds, I think he was one of our greatest heroes.

Three Death Wishes
Alexander the Great had some pretty deep wishes before he died. The three death wishes he made were to have the best doctors carry his coffin to show that not even the best doctors can cure death. His second death wish was to have his treasure scattered across the road. If you're wondering why, it was to represent that all of the wealth you earned on Earth stays on Earth. And finally, his final wish was to have his hands hanging loose outside of the coffin. Weird, huh? This one has a deep meaning. He wanted his hands to swing in the wind to show that you come to this world empty handed and you leave empty handed.
Three death wishes. If I could pick three death wishes they would probably be, to be buried in the most comfiest clothes I own because in death it doesn't matter what you looked like, the only thing that matters is what you did in the world. My second death wish would be to be buried with my Harry Potter wand. This may come across as very weird but trust me I have a reason behind it. The reason is that even in death, we are, and still will be the same person even after we move on. It is also my most prized possession in this life, and still will be in the afterlife. My third and final death wish would be to have black horses dressed up as Thestrals to pull my coffin in the middle of Diagon Alley at Universal Studios. I want my family to all buy wands, and raise them like the students at Hogwarts did when Dumbledore died. I would want this because it was touching and memorable. It will also give my family a good final memory of me.
Hellenistic Culture
Without Alexander the Great spreading Hellenistic culture, we wouldn't have many things that we have today. Let's just say he made a HUGE impact on the world we have today. He spread Greek culture to everywhere he conquered (that was a lot of places). That means he spread art, literature, technology, science, and even warfare, everywhere. We have learned so much about the Greeks just from looking at their sculptures! Without him spreading hellenistic culture, we wouldn't even have greek stems (so our language would be entirely different). Isn't that weird to think about? He also spread sports and architecture. And without sports, we wouldn't be healthy at all. And we still use Greek architecture today. All of the Capital Buildings and the White House were made with Greek architecture. That's pretty impressive. So without hellenistic culture, we wouldn't be advanced at all.
